Dr. Mark Driscoll is a scientific chair of the 2022 Scientific Committee of the Fascia Research Society. His published research focuses on the biomechanics of the spine from the perspective of devising an improved understanding of the thoracolumbar fascia. 

Driscoll has given presentations on the subject of the thoracolumbar fascia and its role in the stability and health of the spine. He has also authored research papers on the subject of physiological stress shielding within lumbar spinal tissue as a contributor to unilateral low back pain.

In the paper titled “Fascia – The unsung hero of spine biomechanics,” which was published in the Journal of Biomechanics in 2018, he highlights the importance of fascia in the biomechanics of the spine and discusses the role of fascia in spinal stability and health. He emphasizes the importance of fascia in movement and posture.
